Apple Health: Activity, Wellness & Weight
Apple Health: Activity, Wellness & Weight
You can sync activity, sleep, heart rate, and other health data from Apple Health to your Apotheo check-ins. Apple Health can be used as your primary wearable integration, or as a supplement alongside another wearable like Fitbit, Garmin, Ōura, or Whoop.
How It Works
There are two ways to use Apple Health for wearable data:
As your only wearable
If you don't use a Fitbit, Garmin, Ōura, or Whoop, Apple Health can be your primary source of activity and health data. This is ideal if you use an Apple Watch or other devices that write to Apple Health.
Alongside another wearable
If you already have a primary wearable connected (e.g., Whoop), you can additionally connect Apple Health to sync any extra data that your primary wearable doesn't provide. For example, Whoop + Apple Health gives you all the Whoop data plus steps, weight, and mindful minutes from Apple Health.
How to Connect
- Open the Apotheo iOS app
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Under Apple Health, enable Activity, Wellness & Weight
- When prompted, allow Apotheo to read health data from Apple Health
Your health data will sync when you open the Check-In section in the app.
What Data Syncs
- Steps
- Total Sleep, Deep Sleep, Light Sleep, REM Sleep
- Resting Heart Rate, HRV
- Weight, Body Fat %
- Mindful Minutes
Troubleshooting
Nothing is syncing
- Submit from the Apotheo iOS app — Apple Health data won't sync if you submit your check-in from a web browser
- Check permissions — on your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Apotheo and make sure Apotheo has permission to read the data you want to sync
- Check that data exists — open the Health app on your iPhone and verify that data is available for the dates in your check-in period
- Reconnect — in the Apotheo app, go to Settings > Integrations and toggle Apple Health off and back on
Data is missing for some days
Make sure your Apple Watch or other device is syncing with the Health app. If data doesn't exist in Apple Health for a specific day, it won't appear in Apotheo.
Requirements
- You must use the Apotheo iOS app — Apple Health is not available on Android or via web browser
- Data syncs when you open the Check-In section in the app
Things to Know
- Apple Health acts as a bridge — it collects data from your Apple Watch and any other apps or devices that write to Apple Health
- When used alongside a primary wearable, Apple Health only fills in data that the primary wearable doesn't provide
- Data syncs for the check-in period — the days between your current and previous check-in
