Payment Methods

Apotheo processes payments through Stripe, which supports a variety of payment methods depending on your Stripe account configuration and your clients' locations.

Credit and Debit Cards

The primary payment method. Clients enter their card details on your payment page and Stripe processes the charge. Supported card brands include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and others depending on your Stripe account settings.

Card payments appear in the client's billing history with the card brand and last four digits (e.g. "Visa ending in 4242").

Changing a Client's Pricing Option

You can switch a client to a different pricing option from their billing tab:

  1. Open the client's Billing tab
  2. Click Edit next to the Product field
  3. Select the new pricing option from the dropdown
  4. If the client has an active subscription, choose the subscription option for the new product

Proration When Changing Products

When switching a subscribed client to a new pricing option, you can choose whether to prorate:

  • Prorate toggle — enable to calculate the price difference
  • Now — charge or credit the prorated amount today
  • Next invoice — apply the prorated amount to the next billing cycle

The dialog shows the exact amounts so you can review before saving.

Viewing Payment Methods

The payment method used for each transaction is displayed in the client's Payment History table. You can also view detailed payment information by clicking the View link to open the transaction in your Stripe dashboard.

Managing Payment Methods in Stripe

For advanced payment method management — such as updating a client's card on file, adding bank transfer support, or enabling additional payment methods — use your Stripe Dashboard. Changes made in Stripe are reflected in Apotheo automatically.
