# Pausing and Resuming Clients

You can pause a client's subscription or prepaid plan when they need a temporary break — for vacation, injury, or any other reason. While paused, no payments are collected and check-in reminders are suspended.

## Pausing a Client

1. Navigate to **Clients** and open the client's profile
2. Click the **Options** dropdown in the top right
3. Select **Pause**

### Pause Options

You'll see two options:

- **Until a specific date** — select a date using the date picker. The client will automatically resume on this date.
- **Indefinitely** — pause with no end date. You'll need to manually resume the client.

Click **Save** to apply the pause.

## What Happens When Paused

- The client's status changes to **Paused** (shown as a blue badge)
- No subscription payments are collected
- Check-in reminders stop
- The client still has access to their portal but isn't expected to check in
- All existing data (check-ins, messages, plans) remains intact

## Resuming a Client

To bring a paused client back to active:

1. Open the client's profile
2. Click the **Options** dropdown
3. Select **Resume**

The client returns to active status and their subscription or plan continues from where it left off.

If you set a pause-until date, the client resumes automatically on that date without any action needed from you.

## Paused Clients in the Client List

Paused clients remain in your client list with a **Paused** status badge. You can filter your client list by status to see all paused clients at a glance.
