# Connecting MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal syncs your daily calories, macros, and food diary with your Apotheo check-ins. Before connecting, you'll need to enable diary sharing in MyFitnessPal.

## Step 1: Enable Diary Sharing

Your coach needs to be able to view your food diary. In the MyFitnessPal app:

1. Go to **More > Settings > Diary Settings > Diary Sharing**
2. Set your diary to **Public**

If you prefer not to make your diary public, you can set it to **Friends Only** and accept your coach's friend request on MyFitnessPal.

## Step 2: Connect to Apotheo

1. Go to your **Account** page and find the Integrations section (or **Settings > Integrations** in the Apotheo app)
2. Click **Connect** next to MyFitnessPal
3. You'll be redirected to MyFitnessPal to authorize access
4. Log in and approve the connection

Once connected, your nutrition data syncs automatically with your check-ins.

## What Data Syncs

- Calories
- Protein, Carbohydrates, Fat, Fiber
- Sodium
- Food diary (viewable via MyFitnessPal's website)
- Weight

## Troubleshooting

### Nothing is syncing

Check that you have the correct MyFitnessPal account connected. The username shown on your check-in form should match the one in the MyFitnessPal app under **More > Settings > Profile**.

If it doesn't match, disconnect MyFitnessPal from your **Account** page, then connect the correct account.

### My macros don't match

If you modify foods you tracked in MyFitnessPal for days that were already synced, the changes aren't automatically updated. Click **Sync Now** on your check-in form to force an update.

### My calories don't match

By default, Apotheo displays calories calculated from your macros, which may not exactly match the calories shown in MyFitnessPal. This is because entries in MyFitnessPal are usually created from food labels where calorie values are rounded.

There's no need to worry about this — your coach can view both values, and if you're hitting your macros, you're automatically hitting your calorie target. See [Tracked vs. Calculated Calories](https://help.apotheo.com/en/article/tracked-vs-calculated-calories-11k5qp8/) for more details.

## Things to Know

- You can only connect **one nutrition tracker at a time** — if you already have another nutrition app connected, disconnect it first from your Account page
- Data syncs for the **check-in period** — the days between your current and previous check-in
- **Diary sharing must stay enabled** — if you turn it off, your coach won't be able to see your food diary
